GravelRouter: a route planner for gravel riding, worldwide
GravelRouter plans bike routes that take as much gravel as they can and shows the road surface along the whole route, so you know before you ride where it is gravel, tarmac or trail. It works all over the world, with especially detailed surface data in Norway, and runs in the browser; there is nothing to install.
- Routing that prioritises rideable gravel roads, with a fast, a balanced and a most-gravel setting.
- Road surface along the route (gravel, paved, trail, unknown), from OpenStreetMap everywhere, and in Norway also from the national road database (NVDB), which fills in public roads.
- Distance, elevation profile and the weather along the route, from MET Norway (Yr).
- Stops along the way: cafés, food, bakeries, shops, drinking water, shelters and bike repair.
- GPX export for Garmin, Wahoo and other GPS units.
- With Strava connected: your rides, heatmap, KOMs and starred segments on the same map you plan on.
Planning routes is free. GravelRouter Pro ($2.99 a week, $6.99 a month, $59 a year, or $319 once for life, taxes included; also priced in euros, pounds, kroner and other currencies) adds the road surface of every road on the map, AutoRoute loops from a start you choose, the “Gravel at all cost” route option, uploading GPX or FIT files to edit, saving routes to your account and taking them offline.
